Hirogaru Sky Rundown Ep 1
Hello and welcome back to PrettyPower Gaming, and it’s HERO TIME!!
Hirogaru Sky is on us!!! It’s time for Sora and the others to shine
First, let’s talk about Hero Girls(which is strange, given what Toei have officially given for Wing, as Wing is a guy, yep, we have our first proper Male Cure that isn’t a one-off like Infini in Hugtto, or a gag like ‘Gorilla’ in Smile), and it already slaps(and we just have the TV Size) which already proves that the music is amazing, the added English lyrics do feel a bit tacky though(not only, as the Hallelujah Sky part did feel amazing), and Hirogarythm(ED 1) has to take my no.1 prize for Cure endings.
Before we get our intro we see Sora riding on the back of an as of yet unnamed bird, she’s apparently heading to the Skyland castle, and it’s also Something important with the princess. We get the intro with some of the best visuals I’ve seen so far(so far Wing and Butterfly’s civilian identities aren’t shown, so I imagine that when we do get to see who they are, they will be added to the intro, then we have another addition when we get the mid-season, whoever that may be) and we learn it’s the birthday of Princess Ellee, at this point we see this pig being laugh before bursting and revealing his true identity of Kabaton, who tries to kidnap Ellee from her parents, he begins his escape, causing all manner of mayhem as Sora chases him down, confronting him and taking Ellee off him, he then uses a fart attack(yes, a fart attack) which is preceded by some Engrish to re catch Ellee before he escapes into a portal and Sora chases him, eventually rescuing Ellee for the 2nd time, she comes out of the portal, cue ad break
Once the ad break ends Sora looks around and finds she is several feet in the air, after what I can only describe as a ‘Wile E. Coyote 'Oops' moment’(Pat. Pending) when gravity kicked in when she looked down, on the ground in Sorashido City we meet Mashiro out running errands for her grandmother, who we don’t meet yet, while out of a shop labelled with the ‘Pretty Holic’ brand(clever move Toei, it’s not the only reference to the franchise in this episode), but she gets broken up when Sora’s ‘Hero Notebook’ lands in front of her, then Sora goes barrelling to the ground and is only stopped by Ellee stopping her at the right moment, the 2 began to think they are dreaming before Kabaton goes crashing into the middle of the road, he then summons a Lanborg from an excavator.
While on the topic of Lanborgs, let’s talk more about the villains, the Underg empire who wish to kidnap Ellee for as of now unknown reasons, they all seem to have this punk style, Kabaton being a massive pig wearing a leather jacket and having a mohawk, this mohawk also adds in to the Lanborgs(our monsters of the week), even though we only have 1 so far, I’m a fan.
With our first monster summoned everyone thinks that Kabaton is a ‘CureTube video pranker’(what did I say with the Pretty Holic) and sends everyone running, leaving only Sora(with Ellee) and Mashiro, Sora passes over Ellee after Mashiro tells her to run, then Sora runs towards the monster, her ‘potential’ showing again(I neglected to mention it, but Ellee can sense the PreCure potential in someone, somehow), and began to(for lack of a better term) get pasted, but kept going, so when Kabaton corners Mashiro and begins to threaten her, Sora then appears again, before falling to her knees, due to the fact she(as I said earlier) had got pasted, Kabaton then rips the notebook to pieces and uses the empty cover to send Sora fully to the floor, but even then Sora still pushes herself to her feet, which begs the question of what her pain tolerance is if she can get pasted and still get up, Ellee then uses the power Kabaton referenced earlier in the episode to create the Sky Mirage and a Sky Tone, then Sora transformed into Cure Sky for the first time.
As for Sky’s design, I love the design
The design is matching enough with the theme while also having elements of Sora’s normal design in it, I’ll talk about the designs in full when we get our mid-season.Now that Sora has transformed, we get our first battle, after the tested "What is going on?" moment. Sora is able to beat back the Lanborg easily, blocking its first 2 attacks with just a hand, and then sending it flying back, she then finishes it with her Sky Punch(leaping into the sky, charging up energy before releasing it through punching the Lanborg, also I am sure that Skyrider has been notified that Sora uses one of his attacks as her finisher), turning the Lanborg back into an excavator, we then get a small wrap-up as Kabaton escapes and we get the ending, showing again Wing and Butterfly when we don’t know who they are, and the next-time, which appears to show that a vending machine will become the 2nd Lanborg.
So that’s the first episode of Hirogaru Sky! PreCure, overall my hype for the series has hit an all-time high, also I have seen someone suggest that Prism will become evil(before EP 1 went up) and following that episode… I’m not sure that will happen Anyhow this is Cure Ranger, signing off, I’ll see you all next episode.
