Princession Orchestra Rundown Episode 1: What a Wonderful World
Anyhow, the show opens up at the school, our main main protagonist Minamo Sorano and a classmate of hers(Natsu) during which a concert is mentioned, soon Minamo is pulled out of the room, a brief instrumental intro with our other protagonists follows. After that ends it cuts to Minamo’s home. Inside she meets with her father and brother, and Minamo asks if her mother is back yet. Then a brief moment with Minamo and her younger brother, Riku(who seems almost permanently attached to his tablet…) in Minamo’s room she checks on the channel for Alicepia and talks through text with Natsu. And it reveals the site leads to another world, a ‘Wonderland’ where only girls can go, Minamo leaves out and walks past the natural inhabitants of this world, as the secret is mentioned, and to adults and boys it’s just a video site, it explains this world allows people to do whatever they want, a world of adventures, with permission, even live shows can be performed, allowing people to shine as themselves. After the title card is discussion between Natsu and Minamo, as Natsu shows even more sparkle as it explains how time goes differently, then at the live concert with a packed audience(this bodes ill as it reminds me of another similar-ish anime from 2012, one that has been strangely prophetic recently) as Natsu says she wants to be an idol and wants to do it this summer, with mention of the idol this is for being in the next class over. With more talk as Minamo says she’s not good at singing but is somewhat of a ‘cheerleader’, then the song begins of the concert. While a mystery man overlooks it to then interrupt it with monsters(uh-oh #2), causing havoc everywhere, Minamo finds can’t run as Shirube(the idol) transforms for a fight and just like that anime she sings while fighting and then the figure leaves, go to break, the following day on the way to school, Minamo and Natsu talk about that monster as Minamo compares her to princesses from this story, a expo dump of what Natsu heard of these rumours, she ends up being fine, during the class Natsu says she’s going to do a street performance in Alicepia, Minamo saying she will root for Natsu, back in Alicepia, Natsu begins her own street performance as she mentioned earlier which is ruined by the same bad guy from earlier, the monsters(Jammerwocks) reach Natsu as her ‘music’ is stolen from her, Princess Zeal(Shirube) races towards the scene as Minamo shows her courage before a barrier blocks a Jammerwock’s attack as Minamo transforms into Princess Ripple for the first time, go to ending
And WOW, what an episode that was…
There’s a lot to unpack, but it starts amazing and really does follow the ‘Symphogear for kids’ thing, wonder if it’ll keep it, anyhow, until next time this is Cure Ranger, signing off.
