Star Detective Rundown episode 2: Introducing the genius, Jett-Senpai
After the Toei Animation logo it opens with Anna mentioning about how things are in her time to Mikuru, with her main home area being so far just a empty lot, shocking Mikuru as she realised Anna isn't a Star Detective from the agency(I forgot to mention that in episode 1, Mikuru thought Anna was with the agency), and I already love their dynamic. As Mikuru figures out where they must go, and go to OP
After the OP(and trust me, I have a lot to talk about with this OP, and the ED too...) and title card it cuts to the agency as Anna expresses her shock at there being more(a bit too loud, forcing Mikuru to put her hand over Anna's mouth), with mention of a particular one being sure to be able to help. Inside it's almost completely silent aside from one individual as Anna begins to explain her situation, with Mikuru saying that they're Cures as Jett makes his first appearance(also ironically this is right after the end of Gozyuger where his VA is the voice of Tegasword, he was also the voice of Zenkai Gaon in Zenkaiger) with him properly introducing himself on looking at the watches that caused the transformation(which I forgot the name of...) as Anna makes the mistake of thinking he's around their age when in actuality he's 222 years old. Meaning he came into existence in 1777(meaning he's only a year younger than the United States of America...), Mikuru states that her grandmother gave her the pendant she has(why do I feel that Anna's is the same one Mikuru uses?) With it revealed Pochitan is the fairy of time-space who had used all her power to send Anna back with the thing of using Makoto Jewels, with it revealed that the Cure of the agency(hmm... wonder who they could be talking about) has vanished, with Jett confused about how Anna got sent back. The following morning Mikuru bursts through the door trying to continue from the whole impasse as the Cures plus Jett reach a Pasterisse where they meet with one of the Cure Eclair "candidates"(I'll explain in a post after this), Eriza Kurusu(There's one theory floating around her if she is Eclair, I'll mention that in the same post) who lost the pen she won in the Mystery Novel Newcomers' contest with her story The Vanished Gem. As Anna figures this must be another case if Pochitan dragged them all the way here. With Eriza overhearing what they said, as the Cures begin to make fools out of themselves, with Jett calling them amateurs as the network went down as another "candidate" debuts. Anna states she's going to find the one who Eriza was talking to when the pen vanished(probably one of the villains in disguise), with the 2 working separately to get what info they need. Especially what the old woman who Eriza saw before the pen went missing was wearing, with Anna elsewhere trying to find them, eventually doing so. Mikuru also wonders how the woman could have disappeared if the view was so clear before contacting Anna as the woman sets off as the mystery of which different disguise they took came up, as Anna yet again shows her fish out of water side, as they figure out which person is the phantom thief in disguise. After the ads they are able to use the fact that one of the people was using their phone(while the network is down), so they must be the phantom thief, with Nijee turning the pen into a Hanninda, go to transformation and start of the fight as Jett realises that the 2 are Cures, as Nijee explains their end goal with the Cures defeating the Hanninda(that finisher still puts Abarenoh's into mind) as Nijee flees. Back at the agency Jett has finally accepted the Cures and they officially join the agency, go to ED(I also have a lot to talk about with this ending)
For the next time(Everybody come to the CUREtto Detective Agency) it has the interior of the agency done up and introduction of another villain. But until next time this is Cure Ranger, signing off.
